
Stop Waiting for Your Oven to Heat Up
There is nothing worse than a kitchen bottleneck caused by long preheat cycles. You’ve got orders piling up, but you’re just standing there staring at a cold oven. We fixed that. We built curing thermal elements for deck ovens that get you from a cold start to cooking temperature in seconds. Most ovens rely on slow conduction—basically waiting for the air or the stone to warm up—which takes forever. Our approach is different. We use high-density infrared radiation.
How it actually works
Think of it like the sun. Instead of heating the room to heat your skin, the sun hits you directly. Our quartz-halogen setup does the same thing with short-wave radiation. The energy jumps straight to the surface of your product. It’s nearly instant. Because we pack a lot of wattage into a small space, the heat flux is aggressive. If you go with a high-voltage element, the ramp-up is even faster. Just a heads-up: these things hit peak temp immediately. Make sure your oven’s chassis and insulation can handle a sudden spike like that, or you might deal with some warping.
Fitting them in
We house the tungsten filament in high-purity quartz glass. We did this so the tubes don’t cloud up or crack when they go from freezing to searing in a heartbeat. Plus, the connectors are simple. You can just drop them in without having to tear apart your entire control board and rewire everything. Depending on what you’re baking, you might want a different coating. Clear tubes are the fastest. But if you’re worried about scorching the top of your dough before the middle is actually cooked, go with a coated tube. It shifts the heat to a medium-wave, which is a bit more forgiving.
A few things to watch out for
Here is the catch: rapid heating puts a lot of stress on your power supply. You’ll need a stable voltage regulator. If your power dips or spikes, you’re going to burn through filaments a lot faster than you should. I also highly recommend using a PID controller. It stops the oven from overshooting the temperature. Once you hit your target, the controller just pulses the elements to keep things steady. It saves energy and keeps your bake consistent.
