
Why We Obsess Over IP65 Protection for Our Heaters
If you’ve ever run an industrial heating system, you know the nightmare. Water gets in, or condensation builds up, and suddenly—pop—your high-voltage terminal shorts out or your heating element oxidizes. It’s frustrating, expensive, and usually happens at the worst possible time. That’s exactly why we built our heaters to be IP65-rated. We wanted to stop the guesswork. What does IP65 actually mean for you? Basically, it means the unit is totally dust-tight and can handle water jets hitting it from any angle. We don’t just slap a cover on it; we use heavy-duty gaskets and sealed cable entries. If your team is doing a wash-down of the facility, you don’t have to stress about splashes getting inside the housing. It just stays dry. Then there’s the fogging issue. Moisture loves to settle on infrared quartz tubes. When a drop of water hits that scorching hot glass, it causes “thermal shock.” The glass cracks. Simple as that. We fixed this by tweaking the internal temperature. By keeping the heat flowing in a specific way, we stop the moisture from ever settling. The glass stays clear, dry, and—most importantly—intact. The real-world payoff Most heaters die because moisture eats away at the electrical contacts. You get “arcing,” and then you get a dead heater. Our sealed design keeps the wiring bone-dry. Because the elements aren’t fighting off water spots and surface rust, they just last longer. You aren’t replacing units every few months; they just keep humming along, delivering the same steady heat for thousands of hours. A few things to keep in mind Now, look, there are a few trade-offs. Because we added a waterproof shell, the heater is a bit bulkier than those open-frame models. It also traps more heat inside the casing. If you mount it in a spot with zero airflow, the internal electronics might run a bit hotter than we’d like. Just make sure your brackets leave some room for the unit to breathe. It’s worth spending five minutes calculating your ambient heat load during install so you don’t run into trouble later.
